Writing is like reading a book for the first time. You can outline ahead and know how the story goes, or you can just sit down and write. Sure, outlining is more logical and will probably bring a tighter storyline, but it lacks spontaneity.
Writing without knowing what happens next is just more fun.

Lori - I've tried both ways. Makes no difference. Same result.
Now you can figure out if I think that's a good or bad thing. Hah!
Hi JaxPop
Good question. The results matter more than method, but if you aren't having fun then it's just another chore.
I've never tried writing a book without knowing at least part of the story, but maybe it's time I tried. I'm hoping it will be more fun than chore. I don't like doing what I have to do.
Hi Pat,
I agree, it's inevitable to know at least part of the story going in. But it's still a spoiler, like knowing the ending before you sit down to start reading a book.
